Equality guarantees are worth little to someone who does not know which statutory body exists for their situation, or who cannot approach one without the whole neighbourhood knowing.

Awareness work

Sessions cover the equality and non-discrimination guarantees, the statutory mechanisms that exist for workplace and domestic matters, and the practical question of how a complaint is made and what happens after it is filed. Facilitation is by request in women-only settings where that makes participation possible.

Assistance pathways

Where someone brings a matter, the legal aid desk process applies: document the chronology, identify the authority with the mandate, explain what it can decide, refer where appropriate. Referral relationships with legal professionals and statutory bodies are maintained precisely so that this handover is not a dead end.

Confidentiality is the programme

More than anywhere else in our work, the willingness to come forward depends on trust that details will not travel. Case files are confidential, sessions are not photographed in ways that identify participants, and nothing about an assisted matter is published without informed written consent.

Working with others

We do not duplicate the work of specialist organisations and shelters. Where a matter needs services we do not provide, the useful thing we can offer is an accurate, prompt referral rather than an attempt to hold on to the case.
