Programme

Grievance Support

Structured intake for rights and corruption concerns, with a written acknowledgement and a reference number for every matter logged.

GrievancesDocumentation

Available in: English, Telugu, Hindi, Urdu

A complaint that is logged inconsistently gets lost. This programme exists to make sure that does not happen — not by promising outcomes, but by imposing discipline on our own process.

The intake standard

Every logged matter receives a written acknowledgement, normally within 48 hours, carrying a reference number. The register records the mandate holder, a named reviewer, and a review date. Closure requires a written note explaining the outcome, including where the outcome is that we could not assist.

What we do with a grievance

We document it, identify which authority is empowered to act, explain what that authority can decide, and where appropriate refer the matter onward. Aggregate, de-identified counts inform which programmes we run and where.

What we cannot do

ACHRC has no statutory power. We cannot compel an authority, direct an investigation, quash an order, or award compensation. Anyone claiming otherwise on our behalf is misrepresenting us.

If you are in danger

This is not an emergency service. Where there is a threat to life or safety, contact the police and emergency services first. We can help with documentation afterwards; we cannot respond in real time.

Confidentiality

Complainant identities and case files are confidential and are disclosed only where the law requires it. Anything published is anonymised unless the person gives informed written consent — that rule has no exceptions for a compelling story.
