Privacy policy

How ACHRC handles personal data submitted through this website and correspondence channels.

Last updated: August 2026. This policy applies to Anti-Corruption And Human Rights Council (ACHRC) and the website at https://achrcouncil.org.

Who we are

Anti-Corruption And Human Rights Council is a not-for-profit society registered in Telangana. For data protection purposes, the society is the data controller for information submitted through this website. General privacy enquiries may be sent to [email protected].

What we collect

We collect personal data only when you choose to provide it, including:

  • Name, email address, and phone number submitted through contact, volunteer, donation, legal aid, RTI, or grievance forms
  • The content of your message or application
  • Technical data such as browser type and approximate location derived from server logs (where our hosting provider records them)

We do not publish office-bearer names, member records, or complainant identities on this website. Governance pages describe roles only.

Why we use it

  • To respond to enquiries and process applications you submit
  • To review grievances and assistance requests within our mandate
  • To send newsletter updates where you have opted in
  • To maintain the security and basic operation of the website

We do not sell personal data. We do not use form submissions for unrelated marketing.

Legal basis

We process data on the basis of your consent (form submissions and newsletter subscriptions), our legitimate interest in operating a public-facing NGO website, and compliance with applicable law where records must be retained.

How long we keep data

  • General enquiries: up to two years after the last correspondence, unless a longer period is needed
  • Grievance and assistance case files: in accordance with the society's records policy and applicable law
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe

Third-party services

This website is statically exported and has no server-side application of its own. Form submissions are delivered through a third-party form endpoint configured at build time (for example Formspree or Getform). That provider receives the data you submit and forwards it to us. Review their privacy policy before submitting sensitive information.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, subject to legal and operational limits (for example where a grievance file must be retained). Write to [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”.

Children

Volunteer applications are accepted from age 16. Other forms are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 without parental involvement.

Changes

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
