Guidance and referral — not a promise of representation
The legal aid desk documents before it advises. We help you understand your options, prepare your papers, and find the right forum — without creating an advocate–client relationship.
What this desk does
People arrive having been told by someone else that a case can be handled. Correcting that expectation early is frequently the most useful thing we do all week. The desk offers case triage, documentation support, plain-language explanation of process, and referrals to appropriate forums — including statutory legal services authorities where formal representation is needed.
We do not provide legal advice, do not act as advocates before any court or tribunal, and do not guarantee outcomes. Nothing on this page or from our staff constitutes legal advice or creates an advocate–client relationship.
What we can help with
- Denial of a public service or entitlement
- Workplace or employment issues where documentation is the barrier
- Discrimination or equality concerns requiring a structured account
- Police or administrative actions needing a clear chronology
- Land, housing, or tenancy matters within our geographic reach
What we cannot do
- Appear before a court, tribunal, or commission on your behalf
- Compel any authority to act
- Handle matters that fall outside Telangana without being honest about limits
- Respond in real time to emergencies — contact police and emergency services first
Document first
Bring a dated chronology and copies of anything you submitted or received. We work from copies — originals stay with you.
Triage honestly
We assess whether the matter fits our mandate and capacity. If it needs formal representation, we say so at the first meeting.
Refer where appropriate
When a statutory legal services authority, ombudsman, or specialist advocate is the right route, we help you identify it.
