A desk that logs before it promises
Use this form to report a human rights concern, an act of corruption, or a denial of public service. ACHRC is not an emergency service and cannot compel any authority.
What this form is for
This route is for matters where you want ACHRC to review a concern, document it within our mandate, and advise on appropriate next steps. That might mean guidance, referral to a statutory forum, or — where our programmes cover it — structured follow-up. It does not mean we can direct an investigation or guarantee an outcome.
Categories we commonly receive include human rights concerns, corruption or misuse of public funds, denial of a public service, and general grievances that do not fit neatly elsewhere. If your matter needs legal guidance rather than a logged complaint, use the legal aid guidance route instead.
Before you submit
- If there is a threat to life or safety, contact the police and emergency services first — ACHRC cannot respond in real time
- Describe what happened, when, and which authority was involved
- Note any action you have already taken
- Choose how we should handle your identity below
Acknowledgement within 48 hours
Every logged grievance receives a written acknowledgement with a reference number, normally within two working days.
Confidentiality by default
Complainant identities and case files are confidential. We disclose only where the law requires it.
Honest about limits
We tell you plainly if a matter falls outside what we can assist with — rather than raising expectations we cannot meet.
