ACHRC is governed through a General Body and an Executive Committee. Leadership exists to ensure stewardship, compliance, and continuity — not personal prominence. This page describes roles and processes. Individual office-bearers are recorded in the society's statutory registers and are not published here.

Leadership exists to ensure compliance, continuity, and accountability — not personal visibility.
General Body
The sovereign forum of the society. All admitted members form the General Body.
- Elects the Executive Committee and fills casual vacancies
- Receives and adopts the annual accounts and activity report
- Approves amendments to the memorandum and rules
- Decides on affiliation, dissolution, and other reserved matters
Executive Committee
The standing body responsible for day-to-day direction between General Body meetings.
- Directs programmes, projects, and campaign priorities
- Approves budgets, expenditure controls, and internal policies
- Admits members and maintains the register of members
- Reports to the General Body and answers for its decisions
Office-bearer roles

Individual office-bearers are recorded in the society's statutory registers and are not listed on this website.
President
Presides over General Body and Executive Committee meetings, represents the society in its external and ceremonial capacity, and holds a casting vote where a decision is tied.
Vice-President
Discharges the President's functions in their absence and takes delegated responsibility for assigned portfolios.
Secretary
Principal executive officer for correspondence, records, statutory filings, and convening of meetings. Custodian of the minutes and the register of members.
Joint Secretary
Supports the Secretary in documentation, programme coordination, and compliance, and acts in the Secretary's absence.
Treasurer
Maintains accounts, oversees receipts and payments, presents financial statements, and ensures funds are applied only to the society's registered objects.

How accountability is built in
Conflict-of-interest discipline
Members declare interests before deliberation and recuse themselves from decisions in which they have a personal or financial stake.
Records and minutes
Meetings are minuted, resolutions are numbered, and the register of members is kept current under the Secretary's custody.
Financial control
Expenditure follows approved budgets, accounts are placed before the General Body, and no portion of income is distributed for private benefit.
Data protection
Complainant details, case files, and member records are treated as confidential and are disclosed only where the law requires it.
